Having read all of Joel Osteens ' books and hearing him speak of his father whom he replaced in his ministry, I wanted to read one of his books. Power over the enemy consists of 7 chapters (224 pgs.) and the foreword is written by Joel as well as well as a reflection following each chapter. The book is about Satan and his prevalence in the world and in peoples minds where he does battle. Pastor Osteen persuades you through example and scripture to put on the armor of God and read his Word constantly to prevail while pulling down stongholds and live a life of favor. There are chapters on when the tempter comes and how Jesus dealt with temptation and how to engage in spiritual warfare to save ones self and others. He also list 7 ways to recognize false teachings. As stated on pg. 28, " two spiritual realms vie for our attention. As we walk the pathway of life we are being influenced by both. Satan and his demonic forces can hinder us and the Lord and his angelic forces can help us." Reading the words of this book can provide a blueprint for right thinking, arm you against Satanic influences and put you on the right path. Recommended.
