Description
Barefoot running's principle aim is to encourage people to adopt a more natural running style that obeys the body's evolutionary development. The human foot is engineered to strike closer to the midfoot than most cushioned running shoes allow, as such, barefoot running strips the superfluities away and retains only what is necessary to protect the foot from abrasive terrain. A more natural gait cycle conditions tendons, ligaments and muscles, whilst developing stronger, healthier feet and an improved posture. Upper A robust, though lightweight, woven mesh upper provides optimum ventilation, allowing air to fully permeate the shoe's interior, whilst Flywire cables deliver a secure, stable and adaptive midfoot fit. A series of thin mesh panels distributed throughout the midfoot increase airflow, no-sew overlays provide support and durability without adding undue weight and a traditional tongue construction alleviates lacing pressure that can be exerted across the top of the foot. Midsole The low-profile, Phylite midsole's robust construction allows it to also serve as the shoe's outsole, reducing the number of parts, potential fail points and weight. In a departure from previous iterations, flex grooves now adopt a hexagonal shape, thereby increasing the number of flex points to six, setting a precedent in natural motion. A minimal, moulded sockliner mimics the curvature of the foot for additional support whilst an 8mm heel-to-toe drop provides an ideal compromise between providing sufficient cushioning and accommodating a natural gait style. Outsole Areas surrounding the toe are generally more susceptible to wear, as such they have been reinforced with segments of solid rubber that enhance traction and durability. A series of waffle cut pistons work in concert with the Phylite midsole by absorbing impact and then returning to their original shape for added responsiveness. The heel has been rounded, adopting an anatomically beneficial shape that rolls with the ground

They are great, they look great and they have a snug fit. The white sole at the bottom is wider than I would have liked, you can't see that in the picture. I think the smaller trainers are in fashion now that don't have soles that stick out too much on the sides.I am usually size 7-7.5 and I bought the 7. I cannot wear them with thick socks unless I really open up the laces to widen the shoe. Maybe I should have bought the 7.5 but because I am short I don't want to wear big shoes, so thin socks it is.They are very light, you can wear them all day. I wear them walking. I don't know if they are good as running shoes.I don't know about the arch support. My arches are not very good and I use orthotics. The white sole is ideal if you are into sailing.I bought them for $86 and I was looking to buy a second pair but only a month later the price increased to $115. It makes you wonder... should we give good reviews, if they are going to go ahead and increase the price based on that??? So instead of 5 stars I am giving them 4 stars because the price should be decreasing not increasing. My daughter wears these shoes as a shot putter and sprinter on her middle school track and field team. We went to a local sporting goods store and settled on the Nike Women's Free 5.0 for function since she previously owned a similar Nike shoe. However, the store did not have her size in stock and I ordered from Amazon. We found that most track shoes are very narrow but these Nike shoes have a more generous width that fits her much better than other brands. While some sprinters choose to wear spiked shoes, my daughter feels more comfortable running without spikes. These shoes are very flexible and comfortable. She highly recommends them.I noticed that these shoes come in several color combinations but there is a wide price difference between colors of the same shoe. Sometimes this price difference is as much as 50%. I don't understand why putting a purple Nike swoosh on the shoe should add so much to the cost. I ordered the Pink shoe with black swoosh. Everybody is happy and we saved a lot of money.I bought these because I love Nike Free. I paid a lot sad they are no longer made. When they arrived they seem to be made of a cheap material and they were very uncomfortable when I tried them on. I am lead to believe that these sneakers are not genuine Nike. I tried to return them and the seller was unresponsive so Amazon took care of the return.Love these sneakers! They're super cute and are comfy and light for running. I love the eon pink, light grey and white colors on the sneaker. I always get compliments at the gym about them. Goes with pretty much anything since grey and white are neutral colors, and the hot pink adds a nice flare! If you feel you need extra support, just get a Dr. Scholls arch insole. I use the tri-comfort insole with these sneakers and I feel great when running. Socks just can't be too thick if you're wearing the sneakers with the Dr. Scholls insoles... your foot might not fit lol. They run true to size, at least for me they do. They're real Nike brand, again, at least the pair I received. I had no problems with the seller and I received my sneakers with no issues. (I bought them in black, white and grey as well.) Great purchase at a great price. Would definitely purchase again. Thanks! The style is snug but that is the idea for this specific model I am sure. The sizing is difficult to understand; I normally wear a US Women 7.5 in all shoes. I originally ordered as such, and received the size I ordered, but the US Women 7.5 was horrendously and painfully too small. I returned and ordered a full size larger, US Women 8.5, received without incident, and this larger size fits my size 7.5 feet perfectly. Either the factory mislabeled the shoe sizes or "there is something rotten in the state of Denmark." So these shoes fit well, but the size does not coincide. Be sure to order a full size larger than what you normally wear in athletic shoes, or you will be in pain.I know Nikes are sometimes made small and I saw people recommending that you order half a size larger but even having gone half a size larger my big toe is right at the end. A full size larger would have been better. I don't think I could use them for running this small, but with a thinner sock so far they seem to be ok for cross training, etc. (probably because they are pretty soft in the toe area). I love the wider toe box, they breathe which is great in the 90º weather here, and they look great. The inside is not very cushioned (the opposite of the Ascis I had before) but that may not be a problem. Too soon to tell.I bought these as a cheap shoe for half-marathon training. I use them for short runs (both inside on a treadmill and outside on concrete). They definitely work for shorter runs and inside gym use. They are not a lot of support but they are very lightweight and comforterable. I bought a half size up than I normally would wear. I wear a 7 usually and bought an 7.5 and they are still a little tighter than I would have liked. I would definitely recommend going up a size in these.I work at the Amazon warehouse and we are on our feet for 10+ hours a day. With other shoes, my feet would hurt BAD to the point where I could barely walk at the end of the day and i'd get blisters. These shoes are pricey and I usually don't spend so much money on shoes but I was so desperate to find comfortable shoes that wouldn't hurt my feet. These shoes are worth the price. They are extremely comfortable and my feet no longer hurt on my 10 hour shifts. I also didn't have to break them in at all. I wore them to work for the first time and I didn't get a single blister and they felt comfortable for the first wear.. I highly recommend these!Bought these for my daughter to replace some old ones. they are not quite a comfortable as the old ones may need bedding in however these are much better than the 30 or so other pairs she tried on in a shopThis product easy on the eye but if you have broad feet they are simply too tight, difficult to get on and to tie the laces. Also causes discomfort when working hard on a treadmill.I wear it everywhere . I was so happy that the size was exactly what I needed. Great quality and yes product is legitgood pair of trainers! good for running! very lightIt's comfortable, and fits as expected. The material however does concern me on wet days.
