The product works. My pool did not test for metals. Leslie’s told me not all metals however show in a test. I had already spent a fortune on Algaecide. I tried this. You need to have no and I mean NO chlorine in the pool to use this. But that chemical, then use this. Run the pool for a week with it in, add some more every week. Sparkling pool! Why I stress a week—First time I waited used this I deleted chlorine, and added this. Pool went to clear, I only waited 48 hours. Added chlorine and immediately got a lesser vibrant green than before. I did the process again, waited a week and the pool stayed clear.I actually start the pool and add water with the winter cover on. I add metal free and run the pool for a week with the cover on. I then remove the cover and do the ph, and TA, then add the chlorine —-works like a charm. Note I use the BBB method with a saltwater pool. Way cheaper, the Borax adds such a sparkle!Look up the BBB method. It costs me with the metal free $30 for chemicals per year for a 24 round pool. I used to spend near $1000 for a 21 roundI have a small inflatable pool that I filled with our well water (which has a visible iron content).I ordered this product to clear up the water appearance but with some reserve about it working. We’ll, after a couple of applications, the water cleared up. It’s so cool and So I just had to write this review.GoodVery quick service. Product always works well and is simple to use. Good people to do business with.Pool had metal in it, was staining the ladder and made the water look mint green even though it was clear. Used this as directed and the next morning the water was crystal clear. Backwashed the pump and could not believe how much dark rusty looking water came out. It is well worth the money. This is the 2nd time I have used it for this problem and once again it worked great, even took the rust off the ladder.I've been using metal free for years and it hasn't disappointed. This product should definitely be on your list if you have any metals in your pool water.4 stars since it did eventually work for me, needs more instruction. So I used non filtered well water to fill up my new intex 15'x48" pool. Added some chlorine and water was green after a day, internet said it's probably an iron problem. So I took a sample and so off to the pool store I went. Pool store said Iron was 2.0, after a week straight of running my pump and two bottles of this the color was better, but still green and my filter didn't even look different. Took another sample to the pool store said test shows no iron now, and maybe try algacide. That night I just left the vacuum on the bottom of the pool because that's where all this mysterious algae was suppose to die off. Next morning the filter was completely orange! Apparently using the Metalfree sank all the iron to the bottom. Took another day or so and cleaning the paper filters every 12 hours, but now I got a clear pool. So if this doesn't seem to be helping you maybe try leaving the vacuum at the bottom of the pool for a few days. Mind you I was only collecting my samples at the top. While I can't prove this is exactly what happened, the only thing that can turn the filter orange is metals and my pool is clear now. So prove me wrong. We needed this to condition our pool water when refilling after renovation. It was one of the few products that was just the chemical our pool guy asked us to add. It is hard to tell what it did since it went in to the pool without odor or color but the chemical composition of the water came up perfect so we are happy. This product didn't work for me
